Most childhood cancers are curable. We know this because survival rates for children in high-income nations like the US are well over 80%. But for children from poorer countries, the prognosis is bleak. With survival rates falling below 20%, four of every five will not live to tell their story.
The solution? It already exists. It is the distribution that remains tragically uneven. In too many countries, public and professional awareness of childhood cancer is low. Opportunities for early and accurate diagnosis are limited. Referrals are delayed. And there are not enough health workers with the specialist skills to diagnose and treat the disease.
With little to no social support available, it is children and families that pay the price.
Determined to change this, Helpware and a consortium of BPO providers, customers, and individuals have joined forces with World Child Cancer to create The HelpCare Foundation. This new foundation has a singular goal to pool resources in support of the over 400,000 children around the world suffering from cancer, with the goal of reversing the shockingly low survival rate in low-income countries.
The HelpCare Foundation seeks to unite companies and Individuals in supporting World Child Cancer to fulfill their goal of the highest quality care and outcomes for every child, no matter where they were born.
World Child Cancer is focused on making sustainable, community-led change, working with local, regional, and international partners to improve:
