We are pleased to announce that our major partner and investor, EIR has joined forces with Helpware in collaboration with the non-profit organization WEND (Women Empowerment Network and Design) Africa to provide substantial support for their initiatives. This partnership underscores our collective commitment to fostering sustainable development and community empowerment in regions where we operate.
WEND Africa, founded in Uganda in 2014, is dedicated to offering employment, education, and empowerment opportunities to women, particularly those affected by conflict and young mothers lacking access to education. The organization’s programs encompass a wide range of activities, including tailoring, shoemaking, dressmaking, jewelry creation, and other crafts, alongside skills training, upskilling, community reintegration, and direct sponsorship for children. WEND Africa also provides savings programs and medical support, enabling women to reintegrate into their communities and build sustainable livelihoods.
With EIR's financial support, WEND Africa will be able to expand its programs, providing advanced training in business, finance, and personal development. Additionally, this funding will facilitate psychological support, counseling services, and resources for community reintegration. We believe that Ugandan women possess immense talent and potential to contribute to their communities, and with the right support, they can unlock that potential to drive growth and prosperity.
This partnership aligns with our shared values and commitment to sustainable development initiatives.
Brett Carlson, CEO of EIR Partners, commented on the collaboration:
"We encourage Helpware’s expansion in sub-Saharan Africa and participate in the development of the local community by supporting WEND Africa in its mission to uplift women in Northern Uganda. This partnership reflects our shared values of community development and empowerment, and we look forward to seeing the continued impact of Wend Africa’s work."
Robert Nash, CEO of Helpware, added:
"At Helpware, we believe in the power of community and the importance of supporting initiatives that drive lasting change. Our collaboration with EIR and WEND Africa exemplifies our dedication to empowering women and fostering sustainable development in the regions where we work."
Mrs. Jolly, Director of Wend Africa, shared her excitement about the partnership:
"With the support of EIR x Helpware, WEND Africa is positioned to expand its programs and provide critical resources to more women in Northern Uganda. We are thrilled to continue our mission of giving women opportunities to develop and grow and helping them build confident futures."
This collaboration highlights our common vision of a prosperous future for the African continent, in particular Uganda, and our commitment to making a meaningful impact in the communities we work in. We believe that by supporting WEND Africa, we are not only empowering women but also contributing to the sustainable development and economic stability of Uganda.
